Reflecting on our good fortune...

It's been a few days now since we all returned home from Africa. I've spent the weekend updating the BLOG, and Tony Winston has added some of new photos. In thinking back on the trip, it seems like we were a world away...but then we were! As I was telling some friends about the trip, I heard myself say how lucky I felt to live in the United States, where there is clean water, toilets (everywhere!!!), Hansgrove shower heads!!!, In & Out, paved sidewalks, grocery stores overloaded with delicious food, cars to get here & there in, quality schools and universities, and a wide array of jobs and occupations available (even if these are challenging times, it can't compare to what the people in Tanzania experience). I feel blessed to live in Pacific Palisades where the weather is so lovely, where the "mountains reach the sea", and where there aren't any mosquitos!

I think I speak for all of us who traveled on the Kilimanjaro journey, when I say it was a great privilege to have traveled around the world to experience a very different culture and people, and that it opened our eyes, and hopefully has made us more tolerant and always appreciative of God's many blessings.

Until my next excursion wherever that may be (sooner than later!) .... xoxox Cindy
